Sandro Panseri and Loredana Detto star in this Italian drama directed by Ermanno Olmi. With his family in desperate need of money, teenager Domenico Cantoni (Panseri) is forced to abandon his education. As he searches for a job in the city, he meets Antoinetta (Detto) at an interview.

She is also just beginning her working life and together they navigate the new world in which they find themselves.
